If you have
not guessed from the banner at the top of
our site there is a new Need For Speed game
coming out, Need for Speed: Most Wanted!
I can only give these bits for now: the
customization still plays a key part and
is better than ever, and this time, the
game features smart cops! Read the full
press release below.
REDWOOD
CITY, Calif. April 11, 2005
Electronic Arts (Nasdaq: ERTS) announced
today that Need for Speed Most Wanted,
from the makers of the hit Need for Speed
Underground franchise that has sold more
than 15 million copies worldwide, currently
is under development at EA Canada. Combining
the thrill of illicit street racing and
tuner customization with the intensity of
strategic police pursuits that rivals any
Hollywood-style chase scene, Need for Speed
Most Wanted challenges players to become
the most notorious and elusive street racer.
Out-race
your opponents, evade cops and exploit the
open world in Need for Speed Most Wanted;
street racing doesnt get any better
than this, said Larry LaPierre, senior
producer, EA Canada. "Players instantly
will feel the thrill of the ride as they
hit the streets in an open world environment
where drivers can tune their cars to compete
against any class of vehicles or use their
wits to out-fox the law to satisfy their
need for speed.
Need for
Speed Most Wanted delivers a unique, fast-paced
and gripping ride in the racing genre as
players build up their Rap Sheet and street
cred to move their way up the Black List
to become the most wanted racer on the streets.
Players will go head-to-head with the top
drivers on the scene as well as strategically
evade more than half dozen cops at any one
time. Add in a dynamic open world, new gameplay
and customization as well as tuners, supercars,
muscles and sports cars and Need for Speed
Most Wanted will be on every gamers
must-have list.
Developed
in Vancouver, B.C. by EA Canada, Need for
Speed Most Wanted will be available for
a next generation console as well as the
PlayStation®2 computer entertainment
system, Xbox® videogame system from
Microsoft, Nintendo GameCube, Nintendo
DS, Game Boy® Advance, PSP
handheld entertainment system and PC. More
details to follow.
Another
hot driving game that just came out is Need
for Speed Underground 2. If you are a fan
of the NFS series like us, then your sure
to love this release. You can drag, drift,
circuit race and more in this exciting sequel.
There are
any ways ways to play in NFSU2 but you can
start out in the free roaming mode and find
many different types of races to get into.
One of my favorites is the simple drag race
where you basically focus on your start
and shift timing, and oh watch out for traffic
coming up in your path you need to dodge
them and your opponents to avoid totaling
your ride. You also have drifting circuit
racing and more, you can do all these fro
the career mode or quick race mode. Tip:
try racing in the quick racing mode to polish
up your skills first before going into career
mode.
The graphics
in this game are awe-inspiring, not to mention
the great music tracks laid down by the
likes of Snoop Dogg, Xzibit, Terror Squad,
Mudvanye, and more. The only thing I don't
like about the game but is not really a
big deal is in career mode you get these
test messages that you can ignore and just
read later. Other than that the game is
astonishing and has most of the hottest
rides on the street to choose from.
Overall
this game is for sure first-rate. I reccomend
you get out to the stores or online to buy
the game now, its hot.
Street
Racing Syndicate Review
Wow this
game blew me away with the sharp and slick
graphics, not to mention when you hit the
nitrous you feel like your in one of the
the Fast & the Furious movies, with
your surroundings blurring by you. It is
available for Playstation2, X-Box, Game
Cube and for the PC.
You can
choose from arcade, multiplayer and street
mode, to start off street mode a friend
loans you his Skyline GTR (yeah big mistake)
and you race it for him, if you win the
race (how can you fail in a Nissan Skyline)
you get money to buy a starter car. Then
you can trick out your car with performance
and styling parts from major brand names.
Tip: don't blow all your money on the mods,
you need some to gamble with for street
races.
The city
maps in arcade mode are neat because you
can choose between multiple routes to choose
from. I found that braking and steering
were very easy to get used to. You can also
upgrades brakes as needed. Although I didn't
use the online function it is available
so you can race people around the world.
The game has over 40 different officially
licensed cars to choose from.
One downfall
of the game is that Mitsubishi, Toyota,
Volkswagen, Subaru, Lexus, Mazda and Nissan
are the only brand of cars you can choose
from. Another is although I like the graphics,
the lights reflecting off the streets on
night tracks in the game distracts you sometimes.
Over all,
this game is worth buying if you love street
racing games. Great graphics and vehicles
as well as the upgrades and modifications
you can make to your vehicle to make it
one bad ass street machine.
Gran Turismo
4 will hitting the streets till Decmeber
14, 2005. With more cars and better graphics
this game will be sure to be another best
seller so pre-order
it I did, because it will be hard for
stores to keep on the shelves once it gets
out.
